The Awesome Bloggers began as a random idea. For a while, I had been interested in working on a collaborative blog and it was around that time that I came across the Five Awesome Guys channel on YouTube. On this channel, there were five guys and each of them would vlog on a different day of the week. I thought that would be an awesome idea for a collaborative blog, and it is also where the name “The Awesome Bloggers” comes from.

Determined to get this started, I sent out a variety of craigslist ads to a number of different cities asking if anybody would be interested in something like this. After a few days of insincere responses and hate mail, emails eventually started coming in from people who seemed genuinely interested. Three weeks later, The Awesome Bloggers were born! My main goal was to bring 5 or 6 people together who would never have met otherwise to share our opinions and ideas from such different upbringings and point of views. I am very happy to say that things are going according to plan!

If you are interested in learning more about the individual bloggers scroll down to our bios below! The bios are organized by the day of the week the blogger posts on. I hope you join us on our weekly blogging adventure!

City: “Albuquerque”

I am the consummate “jack of all trades, master of none”. I can do everything from write poetry to hang sheetrock… but I do NONE of it very well.
I am 29-years-old and originally hail from Chicago, IL — home of skyrocketing crime/poverty rates, second-best everything, and “lovable loser” sports teams.
I currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico — However, I am rarely ever there, so I use the term “live” very loosely. I’ve spent more time on an airplane seat than most people have spent on a toilet seat, so my time spent at home is very limited.
My “job” is to fly to places where everyone pretends to be very nice to each other for a few weeks. And then, I attempt to relieve nearly everyone I meet of their money while they simultaneously try to relieve me of mine. I put the word “job” in quotations because if you knew what my “job” was… you’d laugh at me implying that it’s legitimate work.
I have a fiancee whom I have been with for the past five years. She is an AMAZING woman who has stood by me through some very tough times, and whose resilience continues to take me by surprise!
I used to be in the military, until one day I got tired of having “do this or else” rammed up my ass, so I separated from the service.
I’m a very light-hearted individual, and I try to keep those around me happy by occasionally acting like a fool and pointing out that life inherently sucks… so why not enjoy it while we have the chance?

City: Los Angeles

I am a lover and experiencer of life. I enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places, even if they do exist in my own backyard of Los Angeles. I grew up here in Southern California and I’m rather partial to it. I don’t think I would move anywhere else anytime soon.

I’m 27 years old and currently studying Computer Science. Some of you might be asking why I’m in school at 27. To make a long story short, it took me longer to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. I had my experiences, tried and learned new things and met some interesting people along the way, but isn’t this what makes life interesting, different, and enjoyable for everybody?

Some of you may know me from my comments on failblog or my other blog Random Thoughts by Danni, but here’s a little about me anyway: Hi everyone! I’m Danni! I’m 22 years old and a fun fact about me is that I’ve recently grown fond of internet cafes and coffee shops and often post from there (see picture). I just graduated from university with a degree in accounting. I’m not too crazy about the subject, but it might come in handy some day. I just started a job at a well known bank – or as my mom put it on my first day of work, “This is the first day of your career!” So, I guess I have a “career” now, and I live in the “real world” – whatever that means.

This blog will be a way for me to document my journey into the “real world” and what life after college is like.

City: Minneapolis

Greetings! My name is Tanya. I’m a student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis studying Urban Studies and Architecture. I really like the two subjects and will probably allude to them in many of my posts. I’m basically interested in how spaces and places influence behavior and lifestyles.

I’ve lived in the Twin Cities for pretty much all my life and I have extreme pride in my Minnesotan-ness. I grew up in the suburbs and have lived in Minneapolis for the last past two years, and I absolutely love city life. I’ve also traveled a bit; I just visited Berlin, Paris,  and Amsterdam this summer and it was a truly life-enriching experience.

I’ve joined this blog mostly to become a more fluid writer and because I think that I have  a somewhat interesting perspective about society and culture . I’ve tried to keep journals before but have never really stuck to it ,so hopefully this makes me more accountable.

People who know me would say I’m a cool kinda guy. They only see the outside but don’t really KNOW me. I’m so much more than a calm demeanor. I’m a young man at a turning point. The past is left behind and a bright future is paved one brick at a time. I have a new-found energy much stronger than my previous one and a strong zest for achievement. I spread love as much as possible while staying true to myself. However with a name like MrStr8Fwd, don’t expect me to hold punches. I’m here to give you strong points of view in a easy to read and clear format. Not only do I acknowledge the strength in my own views but also the strength in others points of views. Always keep an open mind.
